"Some say it's just a part of it, we've got to fulfill de book"

Destiny ... is it all really written?  A blueprint, a grand design, a story within de book.  It's a comforting thought, the security is.  But it's scary to think that it's all predetermined.  There being a 'puppet master' at the helm perpetrating free will when it doesn't exist is scarier still.  But that's not the case so don't worry.  Not in a direct, every step of the way has been written, way.  It seems to me like it's more of a; this is where we want to get, here are the tools, that if used correctly, could get you to that place.  Everything else is on you.  It's on us.  Either you find a path that works and yields results or you don't.
