Tom Green speaking with George Stroumboulopoulos about Interviewing Oprah
Tom: ...You've interviewed her more times than anybody else, Is that correct?
George: That's what she said to me, yup. That's what she said. I think because, I mean I don't know, but I do think, what she said to me is that I don't bring my ego to the table and I'm just very present in the interview, and I listen.
Tom: Yea
George: I mean look, i'm at that age man, i'm forty years old, I don't have anything to prove to anybody, least of all myself. And what i've realize is that i've never had anything to prove to anybody least of all myself. Like, life is so ... i'm trying to be really Zen about this right ... life is so lucky and so fleeting and most of our friends and family don't get a shot at a full life. So I thought; 'oh i'm just going to enjoy every second of this'. And with Oprah, I genuinely listened to her and I forget i'm on stage and I don't placate the guest i'm interviewing, but i'm genuinely connected to them. The end result is irrelevant. It's just, this is a good conversation.
